a segment of the Kissimmee River in the State of Florida
as a component of the Wild and Scenic Rivers System,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Kissimmee River Wild 4
and Scenic River Act’’. 5

SEC. 2. DESIGNATION OF WILD AND SCENIC RIVER SEG-1
MENT, KISSIMMEE RIVER, FLORIDA. 2
Section 3(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (16 3
U.S.C. 1274(a)) is amended by adding at the end the fol-4
lowing: 5
‘‘(233) K
ISSIMMEE RIVER, FLORIDA.— 6
‘‘(A) I
N GENERAL.—The restored segment 7
of the Kissimmee River, beginning approxi-8
mately 16 miles downstream of Lake Kis-9
simmee and ending approximately 15 miles up-10
stream of Lake Okeechobee, to be administered 11
by the Secretary of the Interior as a rec-12
reational river. 13
‘‘(B) W
ITHDRAWAL.—Subject to valid ex-14
isting rights, the Federal land within the 15
boundaries of the river segments designated by 16
subparagraph (A) is withdrawn from all forms 17
of— 18
‘‘(i) entry, appropriation, or disposal 19
under the public land laws; 20
‘‘(ii) location, entry, and patent under 21
the mining laws; and 22
‘‘(iii) disposition under all laws relat-23
ing to mineral and geothermal leasing or 24
mineral materials.’’. 25
