2626 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
2727 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Secure Background 4
2828 Checks Act of 2025’’. 5

3232 SEC. 2. AGE AND RESIDENTIAL REQUIREMENT. 1
3333 Section 922(g) of title 18, United States Code, is 2
3434 amended— 3
3535 (1) in paragraph (8)(C)(ii), by striking ‘‘or’’ at 4
3636 the end; 5
3737 (2) in paragraph (9), by striking the comma at 6
3838 the end and inserting a semicolon; and 7
3939 (3) by inserting after paragraph (9) the fol-8
4040 lowing: 9
4141 ‘‘(10) who fails to meet the age requirement— 10
4242 ‘‘(A) described in subsection (b)(1); and 11
4343 ‘‘(B) in the person’s State of residence; or 12
4444 ‘‘(11) who— 13
4545 ‘‘(A) does not reside in (or if the person is 14
4646 a corporation or other business entity, does not 15
4747 maintain a place of business in) the State in 16
4848 which the licensee’s place of business is located; 17
4949 and 18
5050 ‘‘(B) is not subject to an exception under 19
5151 subparagraph (A) or (B) of subsection (b)(3),’’. 20

5353 Section 924(a)(2) of title 18, United States Code, is 22
5454 amended by striking ‘‘, or (o)’’ and inserting ‘‘(n), or (o)’’. 23
