1919 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Staged Accident Fraud 4
2020 Prevention Act of 2025’’. 5
2121 SEC. 2. STAGING OF MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISIONS WITH 6
2222 COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLES. 7

2424 NGENERAL.—Chapter 805 of title 49, United 8
2525 States Code, is amended by adding at the end the fol-9

3232 ‘‘(a) P
3333 ENALTY FORSTAGINGCOLLISION.—A person 3
3434 operating a motor vehicle who intentionally causes a colli-4
3535 sion with a commercial motor vehicle, as defined in section 5
3636 31101, or arranges for another person to cause such a 6
3737 collision, shall be fined under title 18, imprisoned for not 7
3838 more than 20 years, or both. 8

4040 ENALTY FOR STAGINGCOLLISIONCAUSING 9

4242 ERIOUSBODILYINJURY.—A person operating a motor 10
4343 vehicle who intentionally causes a collision with a commer-11
4444 cial motor vehicle, as defined in section 31101, that results 12
4545 in serious bodily injury or death to another person, or ar-13
4646 ranges for another person to cause such a collision, shall 14
4747 be fined under title 18, imprisoned for not less than 20 15
4848 years, or both. 16
4949 ‘‘(c) L
5050 IMITATION ONPROSECUTION.—A person may 17
5151 not be prosecuted for an act under this section if the per-18
5252 son has been convicted or acquitted on the merits for the 19
5353 same act under the laws of a State, the District of Colum-20
5454 bia, or a territory or possession of the United States.’’. 21

5656 LERICALAMENDMENT.—The analysis for chap-22
5757 ter 805 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by 23
5858 adding at the end the following: 24
