2020 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Supporting Avian 4
2121 Virus Eradication Act’’ or the ‘‘SAVE Our Poultry Act’’. 5

2828 Section 1672(d) of the Food, Agriculture, Conserva-4
2929 tion, and Trade Act of 1990 (7 U.S.C. 5925(d)) is amend-5
3030 ed by adding at the end the following: 6
3131 ‘‘(21) H
3232 IGHLY PATHOGENIC AVIAN INFLU -7
3333 ENZA.—Research and extension grants may be made 8
3434 under this section to land-grant colleges and univer-9
3535 sities (as defined in section 1404 of National Agri-10
3636 cultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy 11
3737 Act of 1977 (7 U.S.C. 3103)) to study highly patho-12
3838 genic avian influenza for the purposes of— 13
3939 ‘‘(A) developing and improving the efficacy 14
4040 of vaccines for poultry, including with respect 15
4141 to— 16
4242 ‘‘(i) researching the effectiveness of 17
4343 such vaccines across poultry species; 18
4444 ‘‘(ii) improving formulations of such 19
4545 vaccines; 20
4646 ‘‘(iii) improving the delivery mecha-21
4747 nisms for such vaccines; and 22
4848 ‘‘(iv) assessing the potential implica-23
4949 tions of vaccination on domestic and inter-24
5050 national poultry markets, including trade 25
5151 and market access considerations; and 26
