1717 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
1818 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
1919 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
2020 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Protect Our Law en-4
2121 forcement with Immigration Control and Enforcement Act 5
2222 of 2025’’ or the ‘‘POLICE Act of 2025’’. 6
2323 SEC. 2. ASSAULT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. 7
2424 Section 237(a)(2) of the Immigration and Nationality 8
2525 Act (8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(2)) is amended by adding at the 9
2626 end the following: 10

3232 ‘‘(i) I
3333 N GENERAL.—Any alien who has 3
3434 been convicted of, who admits having com-4
3535 mitted, or who admits committing acts 5
3636 which constitute the essential elements of, 6
3737 any offense involving assault of a law en-7
3838 forcement officer is deportable. 8
3939 ‘‘(ii) C
4040 IRCUMSTANCES.—The cir-9
4141 cumstances referred to in clause (i) are 10
4242 that the law enforcement officer was as-11
4343 saulted— 12
4444 ‘‘(I) while he or she was engaged 13
4545 in the performance of his or her offi-14
4646 cial duties; 15
4747 ‘‘(II) because of the performance 16
4848 of his or her official duties; or 17
4949 ‘‘(III) because of his or her sta-18
5050 tus as a law enforcement officer. 19

5252 EFINITIONS.—In this subpara-20

5454 ‘‘(I) the term ‘assault’ has the 22
5555 meaning given that term in the juris-23
5656 diction where the act occurred; and 24

6161 officer’ is a person authorized by 2

6363 ‘‘(aa) to engage in or super-4
6464 vise the prevention, detention, in-5
6565 vestigation, or prosecution, or the 6
6666 incarceration of any person for 7
6767 any criminal violation of law; 8
6868 ‘‘(bb) to apprehend, arrest, 9
6969 or prosecute an individual for 10
7070 any criminal violation of law; or 11
7171 ‘‘(cc) to be a firefighter or 12
7272 other first responder.’’. 13
7373 SEC. 3. REPORT ON ALIENS DEPORTED FOR ASSAULTING A 14
7474 LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. 15
7575 On an annual basis, the Secretary of Homeland Secu-16
7676 rity shall submit to Congress and make publicly available 17
7777 on the website of the Department of Homeland Security 18
7878 a report on the number of aliens who were deported during 19
7979 the previous year under section 237(a)(2)(G) of the Immi-20
8080 gration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(2)(G)). 21
