34	34	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
35	35	tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2

40	40	This Act may be cited as the ‘‘CBO Show Your Work 2
41	41	Act’’. 3
42	42	SEC. 2. PUBLICATION OF CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE 4
43	43	MODELS. 5
44	44	(a) I
45	45	NGENERAL.—Section 402 of the Congressional 6
46	46	Budget Act of 1974 (2 U.S.C. 653) is amended— 7
47	47	(1) by striking ‘‘The Director’’ and inserting 8
48	48	the following: 9
49	49	‘‘(a) I
50	50	NGENERAL.—The Director’’; and 10
51	51	(2) by adding at the end the following: 11
52	52	‘‘(b) P
53	53	UBLICATION OFMODELS ANDDATA.—The Di-12
54	54	rector of the Congressional Budget Office shall make 13
55	55	available to Members of Congress and make publicly avail-14
56	56	able on the website of the Congressional Budget Office— 15
57	57	‘‘(1) each fiscal model, policy model, and data 16
58	58	preparation routine used by the Congressional Budg-17
59	59	et Office in estimating the costs and other fiscal, so-18
60	60	cial, or economic effects of legislation, including esti-19
61	61	mates prepared under subsection (a); 20
62	62	‘‘(2) any update of a model or routine described 21
63	63	in paragraph (1); 22
64	64	‘‘(3) subject to paragraph (4), for each estimate 23
65	65	of the costs and other fiscal effects of legislation, in-24
66	66	cluding estimates prepared under subsection (a), the 25
67	67	data, programs, models, assumptions, and other de-26

72	72	Budget Office in preparing the estimate, in a man-2
73	73	ner sufficient to permit replication by individuals not 3
74	74	employed by the Congressional Budget Office; and 4
75	75	‘‘(4) for any data that is required not to be dis-5
76	76	closed by the Congressional Budget Office— 6
77	77	‘‘(A) a complete list of all data variables 7
78	78	for such data; 8
79	79	‘‘(B) descriptive statistics for all data vari-9
80	80	ables for such data (including averages, stand-10
81	81	ard deviations, number of observations, and cor-11
82	82	relations to other variables), to the extent that 12
83	83	the descriptive statistics do not violate the rule 13
84	84	against disclosure; 14
85	85	‘‘(C) a reference to the statute requiring 15
86	86	that the data not be disclosed; and 16
87	87	‘‘(D) information regarding how to contact 17
88	88	the individual or entity who has unrestricted ac-18
89	89	cess to the data.’’. 19

91	91	FFECTIVEDATE.—The amendments made by 20
92	92	subsection (a) shall apply on and after the date that is 21
93	93	6 months after the date of enactment of this Act. 22
