5	20		To amend section 3(b)(4) of the United States Housing
6	21		Act of 1937 to exclude certain disability benefits from
7	22		income for the purposes of determining eligibility for
8	23		the supported housing program under section 8(o)(19),
9	24		and for other purposes.
10	25		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
11		-	tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 2

13		-	SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 1
14		-	This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Housing Unhoused 2
15		-	Disabled Veterans Act’’. 3
16		-	SEC. 2. EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN DISABILITY BENEFITS. 4
17		-	Section 3(b)(4)(B) of the United States Housing Act 5
18		-	of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437a(b)(4)(B)) is amended— 6
19		-	(1) by redesignating clauses (iv) and (v) as 7
20		-	clauses (vi) and (vii), respectively; and 8
21		-	(2) by inserting after clause (iii) the following: 9
22		-	‘‘(iv) with respect to the supported 10
23		-	housing program under section 8(o)(19), 11
24		-	any disability benefits received under chap-12
25		-	ter 11 or chapter 15 of title 38, United 13
26		-	States Code, received by a veteran, except 14
27		-	that this exclusion may not apply to the 15
28		-	definition of adjusted income; 16
29		-	‘‘(v) with respect to any household re-17
30		-	ceiving rental assistance under the sup-18
31		-	ported housing program under section 19
32		-	8(o)(19) as it relates to eligibility for other 20
33		-	types of housing assistance, any disability 21
34		-	benefits received under chapter 11 or chap-22
35		-	ter 15 of title 38, United States Code, re-23
36		-	ceived by a veteran, except that this exclu-24
37		-	sion may not apply to the definition of ad-25

42		-	NGENERAL.—When determining the eligibility 2
43		-	of a veteran to rent a residential dwelling unit constructed 3
44		-	on Department property on or after the date of the enact-4
45		-	ment of this Act, for which assistance is provided as part 5
46		-	of a housing assistance program administered by the Sec-6
47		-	retary of Housing and Urban Development and not yet 7
48		-	in existence at the time of the enactment of this section, 8
49		-	the Secretary shall exclude from income any disability ben-9
50		-	efits received under chapter 11 or chapter 15 of title 38, 10
51		-	United States Code by such person. 11
