56	56	ganization in developing the next generation of leaders
57	57	who will change the world, and celebrating the 90th
58	58	anniversary of New Farmers of America and the 75th
59	59	anniversary of the Federal charter to Future Farmers

61	61	Whereas the National FFA Organization (referred to in this
62	62	preamble as ‘‘FFA’’) was established in 1928;
63	63	Whereas the mission of FFA is to make a positive difference
64	64	in the lives of students by developing their potential for
65	65	premier leadership, personal growth, and career success
66	66	through agricultural education;
67	67	Whereas the FFA has more than 1,000,000 members in
68	68	9,235 chapters in all 50 States, the Commonwealth of
69	69	Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, and the
70	70	District of Columbia;
71	71	Whereas FFA welcomes all students;
72	72	Whereas more than 14,000 FFA advisors and agricultural
73	73	education teachers deliver an integrated model of agricul-
74	74	tural education, providing students with an innovative
75	75	and cutting-edge education;
76	76	Whereas FFA facilitates formative experiences, altering the
77	77	course of students’ lives for the better;
78	78	Whereas FFA members develop the necessary career-readi-
79	79	ness skills to continue their education in college or to
80	80	enter the workforce immediately;
81	81	Whereas FFA prepares members to be globally conscious citi-
82	82	zens of their community, their State, their country, and
83	83	the world;

87	87	Whereas FFA provides opportunities to demonstrate literacy,
88	88	advocacy, and technical skills in agriculture, food, and
89	89	natural resources; and
90	90	Whereas FFA members will celebrate ‘‘National FFA Week’’
91	91	during the week of February 15 through February 22,
92	92	2025: Now, therefore, be it
93	93	Resolved, That the House of Representatives— 1
94	94	(1) supports the designation of ‘‘National FFA 2
95	95	Week’’; 3
96	96	(2) recognizes the important role of the Na-4
97	97	tional FFA Organization (FFA) in developing the 5
98	98	next generation of globally conscious leaders who will 6
99	99	change the world; 7
100	100	(3) celebrates the 90th anniversary of New 8
101	101	Farmers of America (NFA) which served Black vo-9
102	102	cational agriculture students in segregated public 10
103	103	schools, until NFA and FFA became one organiza-11
104	104	tion in 1965; and 12
105	105	(4) commemorates the 75th anniversary of the 13
106	106	81st Congress passing a bill that granted Future 14
107	107	Farmers of America a Federal charter, which later 15
108	108	became Public Law 81–740 when President Harry 16
109	109	S. Truman signed the bill on August 30, 1950. 17
