Whereas the National FFA Organization (referred to in this preamble as ‘‘FFA’’) was established in 1928; Whereas the mission of FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education; Whereas the FFA has more than 1,000,000 members in 9,235 chapters in all 50 States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia; Whereas FFA welcomes all students; Whereas more than 14,000 FFA advisors and agricultural education teachers deliver an integrated model of agricul- tural education, providing students with an innovative and cutting-edge education; Whereas FFA facilitates formative experiences, altering the course of students’ lives for the better; Whereas FFA members develop the necessary career-readi- ness skills to continue their education in college or to enter the workforce immediately; Whereas FFA prepares members to be globally conscious citi- zens of their community, their State, their country, and the world; VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:59 Feb 13, 2025 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6300 E:\BILLS\HR133.IH HR133 ssavage on LAPJG3WLY3PROD with BILLS 3 •HRES 133 IH Whereas FFA provides opportunities to demonstrate literacy, advocacy, and technical skills in agriculture, food, and natural resources; and Whereas FFA members will celebrate ‘‘National FFA Week’’ during the week of February 15 through February 22, 2025: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives— 1 (1) supports the designation of ‘‘National FFA 2 Week’’; 3 (2) recognizes the important role of the Na-4 tional FFA Organization (FFA) in developing the 5 next generation of globally conscious leaders who will 6 change the world; 7 (3) celebrates the 90th anniversary of New 8 Farmers of America (NFA) which served Black vo-9 cational agriculture students in segregated public 10 schools, until NFA and FFA became one organiza-11 tion in 1965; and 12 (4) commemorates the 75th anniversary of the 13 81st Congress passing a bill that granted Future 14 Farmers of America a Federal charter, which later 15 became Public Law 81–740 when President Harry 16 S.
