RESOLUTION
To establish uniform standards for flag displays in the House
of Representatives facilities.
Resolved, 1
SECTION 1. SCOPE AND APPLICATION. 2
(a) A
PPLICATION.—This resolution shall apply to the 3
following: 4
(1) Office buildings of the House of Represent-5
atives; 6
(2) Any office or facility used by the leadership 7
of the House of Representatives for official pur-8
poses. 9

(3) Any locations used for official purposes by 1
a committee of the House of Representatives. 2
(4) Any other area under the jurisdiction of the 3
House of Representatives. 4
(b) E
XCEPTION.—Nothing in this resolution shall 5
apply to the individual personal office space of a Member 6
of the House of Representatives. 7
SEC. 2. AUTHORIZED FLAG DISPLAYS. 8
In any location covered by section 1, the only flags 9
that may be displayed are the following: 10
(1) The United States flag, as defined in sec-11
tion 700(b) of title 18, United States Code. 12
(2) The official House of Representatives flags 13
and insignia. 14
(3) The State flag of the represented district of 15
a Member of the House of Representatives, dis-16
played adjacent to the office of such Member. 17
(4) A military service flag. 18
(5) The POW/MIA flag. 19
(6) Any flag eligible to be displayed in the Hall 20
of Tribal Nations of the Bureau of Indian Affairs 21
Museum Program. 22
(7) The flags of visiting foreign dignitaries dur-23
ing an official visit. 24

SEC. 3. OVERSIGHT. 1
The Administration Committee of the House of Rep-2
resentatives and the Sergeant of Arms shall oversee the 3
application of this resolution, including by— 4
(1) establishing a process for reviewing and ap-5
proving temporary exceptions; and 6
(2) implementing a timeline for compliance with 7
the requirements of this resolution, including an ini-8
tial implementation date that is not later than 30 9
days after the date of enactment of this resolution. 10
