74	74	leadership team of the House Republican Conference.
75	75	Whereas, on March 5, 2025, the House Republican Con-
76	76	ference’s political arm posted a vile post on X about
77	77	United States Congressman Adriano Espaillat of New
78	78	York, the Chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Cau-
79	79	cus, calling into question his immigration status and pa-
80	80	triotism;
81	81	Whereas this xenophobic rhetoric from the House Republican
82	82	Conference proves that one can follow the law, earn legal
83	83	status, become a citizen of the United States, get duly
84	84	elected to Congress, swear multiple oaths of office to up-
85	85	hold and defend the Constitution, and still be called an
86	86	‘‘illegal immigrant’’, despite its ignorance and inaccuracy;
87	87	Whereas this xenophobic and anti-immigrant rhetoric is be-
88	88	neath the oath of office for a Member of Congress and
89	89	has no place in the House of Representatives; and
90	90	Whereas this post followed an intense debate on the House
91	91	floor about decorum and the need for Members of Con-
92	92	gress to rise above political division and elevate the dis-
93	93	course of this sacred citadel of American democracy:
