2222 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
2323 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
2424 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘World War II Women’s 4
2525 Memorial Location Act’’. 5
2626 SEC. 2. FINDINGS. 6
2727 Congress finds that— 7

3232 18,000,000 women answered the call during a global 2
3333 crisis to hold down the home front by working as pi-3
3434 lots, engineers, mechanics, code breakers, and more, 4
3535 building planes, tanks, munitions, and other equip-5
3636 ment needed by United States troops, and serving as 6
3737 the backbone of the war effort; 7
3838 (2) section 702 of division DD of the Consoli-8
3939 dated Appropriations Act, 2023 (40 U.S.C. 8903 9
4040 note; Public Law 117–328), authorized the World 10
4141 War II Women’s Memorial Foundation (formerly 11
4242 known as the ‘‘Women Who Worked on the Home 12
4343 Front Foundation’’) to establish a commemorative 13
4444 work on Federal land in the District of Columbia 14
4545 and its environs to commemorate the service and 15
4646 sacrifice to the United States of the women who 16
4747 worked on the home front during World War II; and 17
4848 (3) locating the commemorative work described 18
4949 in paragraph (2) on the National Mall would be a 19
5050 respectful extension of the enduring legacy of the 20
5151 women who worked on the home front during World 21
5252 War II. 22
5353 SEC. 3. LOCATION OF COMMEMORATIVE WORK. 23
5454 Notwithstanding section 8908 of title 40, United 24
5555 States Code, the commemorative work to commemorate 25
