17	17	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
18	18	tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
19	19	SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
20	20	This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Portable Ultrasound 4
21	21	Reimbursement Equity Act of 2025’’. 5

28	28	(a) I
29	29	NGENERAL.—Section 1861(s)(3) of the Social 4
30	30	Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395x(s)(3)) is amended by strik-5
31	31	ing ‘‘diagnostic X-ray tests’’ and inserting ‘‘diagnostic X- 6
32	32	ray and ultrasound tests’’. 7

36	36	LTRASOUND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES.—Section 9
37	37	1834 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395m) is 10
38	38	amended by adding at the end the following new sub-11
39	39	section: 12

41	41	NSURINGEQUITABLEPAYMENT FORPORT-13
42	42	ABLEULTRASOUND TRANSPORTATION AND SETUP 14

44	44	ERVICES.— 15
45	45	‘‘(1) I
46	46	N GENERAL.—The Secretary shall provide 16
47	47	a separate payment under this part for portable 17
48	48	ultrasound transportation and set up services in the 18
49	49	same manner and to the same extent that separate 19
50	50	payments are provided for portable X-ray transpor-20
51	51	tation and set up services. 21
52	52	‘‘(2) P
53	53	AYMENT REQUIREMENTS .—The Sec-22
54	54	retary shall specify requirements applicable to sup-23
55	55	pliers of portable ultrasound transportation and set 24
56	56	up services under this part. Such requirements shall 25
57	57	be substantially similar to the requirements applica-26

62	62	part C of part 486 of title 42, Code of Federal Reg-2
63	63	ulations (or a successor regulation).’’. 3

65	65	FFECTIVEDATE.—The amendments made by 4
66	66	this section shall apply with respect to services furnished 5
67	67	on or after January 1, 2027. 6
