2020 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Police Officers Pro-4
2121 tecting Children Act’’. 5

2828 FIREARM, AND DISCHARGE A FIREARM, IN A 4
2929 SCHOOL ZONE. 5
3030 Section 922(q) of title 18, United States Code, is 6
3131 amended— 7
3232 (1) in paragraph (2)(B)— 8
3333 (A) in clause (vi), by striking ‘‘; or’’ and 9
3434 inserting a semicolon; and 10
3535 (B) by redesignating clause (vii) as clause 11
3636 (ix) and inserting after clause (vi) the following: 12
3737 ‘‘(vii) by a qualified law enforcement offi-13
3838 cer, as defined in section 926B, who is author-14
3939 ized under that section to carry a concealed 15
4040 firearm, if the firearm is concealed; 16
4141 ‘‘(viii) by a qualified retired law enforce-17
4242 ment officer, as defined in section 926C, who is 18
4343 authorized under that section to carry a con-19
4444 cealed firearm, if the firearm is concealed; or’’; 20
4545 and 21
4646 (2) in paragraph (3)(B)— 22
4747 (A) in clause (iii), by striking ‘‘; or’’ and 23
4848 inserting a semicolon; 24
4949 (B) in clause (iv), by striking the period 25
5050 and inserting a semicolon; and 26
