1717 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
1818 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Fire Suppression and 4
1919 Response Funding Assurance Act’’. 5
2020 SEC. 2. FIRE MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE COST SHARE. 6
2121 (a) I
2222 NGENERAL.—Section 420 of the Robert T. 7
2323 Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act 8
2424 (42 U.S.C. 5187) is amended— 9

3333 EDERALSHARE.—The Federal share of assist-5
3434 ance under this section shall be not less than 75 percent 6
3535 of the eligible cost of such assistance.’’. 7

3737 PPLICABILITY.—The amendments made by sub-8
3838 section (a) shall only apply to amounts appropriated on 9
3939 or after the date of enactment of this Act. 10
4040 SEC. 3. RULEMAKING. 11
4141 Not later than 3 years after the date of enactment 12
4242 of this Act, the President, acting through the Adminis-13
4343 trator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, 14
4444 shall conduct and complete a rulemaking to provide cri-15
4545 teria for the circumstances under which the Administrator 16
4646 may recommend the President increase the Federal cost 17
4747 share for section 420 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster 18
4848 Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5187). 19
4949 SEC. 4. POLICY UPDATE. 20
5050 The Administrator of the Federal Emergency Man-21
5151 agement Agency shall update the policy for grants made 22
5252 under section 420 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Re-23
5353 lief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5187), con-24
5454 sistent with assistance provided under a major disaster 25
