A BILL 
To identify and address barriers to coverage of remote phys-
iologic devices under State Medicaid programs to improve 
maternal and child health outcomes for pregnant and 
postpartum women. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Connected Maternal 4
Online Monitoring Act’’ or the ‘‘Connected MOM Act’’. 5

SEC. 2. COVERAGE OF REMOTE PHYSIOLOGIC MONITORING 1
DEVICES AND IMPACT ON MATERNAL AND 2
CHILD HEALTH OUTCOMES UNDER MED-3

(a) R
EPORT TO CONGRESS.—Not later than 18 5
months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Sec-6
retary of Health and Human Services shall submit to Con-7
gress a report containing information on authorities and 8
State practices for covering remote physiological moni-9
toring devices, including limitations and barriers to such 10
coverage and the impact on maternal health outcomes, and 11
to the extent appropriate, recommendations on how to ad-12
dress such limitations or barriers related to coverage of 13
remote physiologic devices under State Medicaid pro-14
grams, including, but not limited to, pulse oximeters, blood 15
pressure cuffs, scales, and blood glucose monitors, with 16
the goal of improving maternal and child health outcomes 17
for pregnant and postpartum women enrolled in State 18
Medicaid programs. 19
(b) S
TATERESOURCES.—Not later than 6 months 20
after the submission of the report required by subsection 21
(a), the Secretary shall update resources for State Med-22
icaid programs, such as State Medicaid telehealth toolkits, 23
to be consistent with the recommendations provided in 24
such report. 25
