A BILL 
To make the assault of a law enforcement officer a 
deportable offense, and for other purposes. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLES. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Protect Our Law en-4
forcement with Immigration Control and Enforcement Act 5
of 2025’’ or the ‘‘POLICE Act of 2025’’. 6

SEC. 2. ASSAULT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. 1
Section 237(a)(2) of the Immigration and Nationality 2
Act (8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(2)) is amended by adding at the 3
end the following: 4
‘‘(G) A
SSAULT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OF -5
FICER.— 6
‘‘(i) I
N GENERAL.—Any alien who has 7
been convicted of, who admits having com-8
mitted, or who admits committing acts 9
which constitute the essential elements of, 10
any offense involving assault of a law en-11
forcement officer is deportable. 12
‘‘(ii) C
IRCUMSTANCES.—The cir-13
cumstances referred to in clause (i) are 14
that the law enforcement officer was as-15
saulted— 16
‘‘(I) while he or she was engaged 17
in the performance of his or her offi-18
cial duties; 19
‘‘(II) because of the performance 20
of his or her official duties; or 21
‘‘(III) because of his or her sta-22
tus as a law enforcement officer. 23
‘‘(iii) D
EFINITIONS.—In this subpara-24
graph— 25

‘‘(I) the term ‘assault’ has the 1
meaning given that term in the juris-2
diction where the act occurred; and 3
‘‘(II) the term ‘law enforcement 4
officer’ is a person authorized by 5
law— 6
‘‘(aa) to engage in or super-7
vise the prevention, detection, in-8
vestigation, or prosecution, or the 9
incarceration of any person for 10
any criminal violation of law; 11
‘‘(bb) to apprehend, arrest, 12
or prosecute an individual for 13
any criminal violation of law; or 14
‘‘(cc) to be a firefighter or 15
other first responder.’’. 16
SEC. 3. REPORT ON ALIENS DEPORTED FOR ASSAULTING A 17
LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. 18
The Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit to 19
Congress and make publicly available on the website of 20
the Department of Homeland Security an annual report 21
identifying the number of aliens who were deported during 22
the previous fiscal year pursuant to section 237(a)(2)(G) 23
