1515 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
1616 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
1717 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
1818 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Taiwan Assurance Im-4
1919 plementation Act’’. 5
2020 SEC. 2. INCREASED REPORTING REGARDING DEPARTMENT 6
2121 OF STATE TAIWAN GUIDELINES. 7
2222 Section 315 of the Taiwan Assurance Act of 2020 8
2323 (subtitle B of title III of division FF of Public Law 116– 9
2424 260; 134 Stat. 3100) is amended— 10

2828 (1) in subsection (c)(1), by inserting ‘‘and any 1

3535 ERIODICREVIEWS ANDUPDATEDREPORTS.— 7
3636 ‘‘(1) I
3737 N GENERAL.—For as long as the Depart-8
3838 ment of State maintains guidance that governs rela-9
3939 tions with Taiwan as described in subsection (a), the 10
4040 Secretary of State shall— 11
4141 ‘‘(A) not less than once every five years, 12
4242 conduct a review of the Department of State’s 13
4343 guidance that governs relations with Taiwan, 14
4444 including the periodic memorandum entitled, 15
4545 ‘Guidelines on Relations with Taiwan’ and re-16
4646 lated documents, and reissue such guidance to 17
4747 executive branch departments and agencies; and 18
4848 ‘‘(B) not later than 90 days after com-19
4949 pleting a review required by paragraph (1)(A), 20
5050 submit an updated report to the Committee on 21
5151 Foreign Relations of the Senate and the Com-22
5252 mittee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Rep-23
5353 resentatives. 24

6666 strictions on relations with Taiwan lifted by the 10
6767 Secretary of State in the most recent updated 11
6868 guidance, including the periodic memorandum 12
6969 entitled ‘Guidelines on Relations with Taiwan’ 13
