To ensure that the Forest Service is fully staffed, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Save Our Forests Act 4
of 2025’’. 5
SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS. 6
In this Act: 7

ATIONAL FOREST SYSTEM .—The term 8
‘‘National Forest System’’ has the meaning given 9
the term in section 11(a) of the Forest and Range-10

(2) S
ECRETARY.—The term ‘‘Secretary’’ means 3
the Secretary of Agriculture. 4
(3) S
ERVICE.—The term ‘‘Service’’ means the 5
Forest Service. 6
SEC. 3. FOREST SERVICE STAFFING AND PERSONNEL. 7
As soon as practicable after the date of enactment 8
of this Act, using funds previously appropriated to the 9
Secretary for such purposes, the Secretary shall— 10
(1) increase staffing necessary to sustain the 11
health, diversity, and productivity of National Forest 12
System land to meet the needs of present and future 13
generations; and 14
(2) reinstate any individuals who were involun-15
tarily removed or otherwise terminated from employ-16
ment with the Service during the period beginning 17
on January 20, 2025, and ending on February 25, 18
2025. 19
SEC. 4. CONTINUATION OF AUTHORIZED FOREST SERVICE 20
PROJECTS. 21
The Secretary shall have the authority to continue 22
to carry out any Service project for which funds are au-23
thorized or appropriated under— 24

(1) the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement 1
Act (16 U.S.C. 6801 et seq.); 2
(2) the Great American Outdoors Act (Public 3
Law 116–152; 134 Stat. 682); 4
(3) the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act 5
(Public Law 117–58; 135 Stat. 429); or 6
(4) Public Law 117–169 (commonly known as 7
the ‘‘Inflation Reduction Act of 2022’’) (136 Stat. 8
