1414 9 This bill amends provisions related to state pay plans.
1515 10Highlighted Provisions:
1616 11 This bill:
1717 12 <defines terms; and
1818 13 <requires the division director of the Division of Human Resource Management to:
1919 14 Cestablish specialized state pay plans for transportation technicians in the
2020 15Department of Transportation that include certain information about salary
2121 16range, qualifications, training, performance evaluation, and promotion; and
2222 17 Cinclude recommendations on funding and salary increases for transportation
2323 18technicians in the division director's annual compensation plan to the governor.

3232 27Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:

3535 28 Section 1. Section 63A-17-307.5 is enacted to read:
3636 29 63A-17-307.5. State pay plans for transportation technicians in the Department of
3737 30Transportation.
3838 31 (1) As used in this section, "transportation technician" means an employee of the
3939 32Department of Transportation who is designated as a transportation technician.
4040 33 (2) The division director shall:
4141 34 (a) establish a specialized state pay plan for transportation technicians that:
4242 35 (i) meets the requirements of Section 63A-17-307;
4343 36 (ii) distinguishes the salary range for each transportation technician classification;
4444 37 (iii) includes for each transportation technician:
4545 38 (A) the minimum qualifications; and
4646 39 (B) any training requirements; and
4747 40 (iv) provides standards for:
4848 41 (A) performance evaluation; and
4949 42 (B) promotion; and
5050 43 (b) include, in the plan described in Subsection 63A-17-307(4), recommendations on
5151 44funding and salary increases for transportation technicians.
