Commending The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

WHEREAS, for 100 years, The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County has remained dedicated to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ while providing care and support to all of those in need; and
WHEREAS, 60 years after the founding of the international movement known as The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church, The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County was founded on June 27, 1925; and
WHEREAS, since its founding, The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County has partnered with the local community to efficiently and effectively assist individuals and families confronted by poverty and other difficult circumstances; and
WHEREAS, The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County holds its iconic Red Kettle Campaigns every year to raise funds for the organization's programs in the local area; and
WHEREAS, The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is steadfastly committed to offering its programs and services to people of all backgrounds without discrimination or harassment; and
WHEREAS, through its family services and emergency shelter, The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County assists men, women, and families facing housing instability, extending a vital lifeline to guide them through their time of crisis and to bolster their efforts to achieve self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, with abundant understanding, compassion, and hope, The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County has made a positive difference in countless lives and has helped to make the Greater Harrisonburg area a more welcoming and supportive place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County on the occasion of the organization's 100th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's history and legacy of service.
