1321 WHEREAS, in 2024, Tomahawk Creek Middle School in Chesterfield County was recognized by the Association for Middle Level Education as Chesterfield County's first ever School of Distinction; and

1523 WHEREAS, the Schools of Distinction program recognizes exemplary schools and supports them through a process of strategic vision setting to help foster ongoing growth and success; Tomahawk Creek Middle School was one of only six Virginia schools and 17 schools across the country chosen to receive this high honor; and

1725 WHEREAS, Tomahawk Creek Middle School opened in 2008 and was quickly recognized by the National Forum through the Schools to Watch program; and

1927 WHEREAS, now under the leadership of Principal Rebecca Thompson, Tomahawk Creek Middle School is dedicated to providing a challenging academic environment that encourages students to achieve their fullest potential both in and out of the classroom; and

3139 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Tomahawk Creek Middle School hereby be commended on the occasion of its selection as a School of Distinction by Association for Middle Level Education; and, be it
