1319 WHEREAS, Virginia Natural Gas, a distinguished utility provider that delivers safe and reliable natural gas to Southeastern Virginia, is celebrating 175 years of service in the Commonwealth in 2025; and

1521 WHEREAS, Virginia Natural Gas was originally chartered to light the streetlights of the City of Norfolk through an act passed by the General Assembly on January 11, 1850; and

1723 WHEREAS, Virginia Natural Gas provides natural gas service to 15 localities and serves over 310,000 customers, including families, schools, hospitals, churches, shipyards, restaurants, and small and large businesses in Southeastern Virginia; and

1925 WHEREAS, Virginia Natural Gas delivers energy to more than 14 military installations, providing critical energy and reliability to support the nation's defense; and

3137 RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Virginia Natural Gas hereby be commended for its legacy of more than 175 years of service to Virginians; and, be it
