1414 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the 9
1515 Agency of Transportation to provide funding to rural and flood-prone 10
1616 municipalities for upgrading infrastructure, including roads, bridges, culverts, 11
1717 gravel roads, and emergency access routes. This bill also proposes to require 12
1818 the Agency to design and implement stormwater management system 13
1919 upgrades, including larger culverts, reinforced ditches, and drainage systems 14
2020 capable of managing severe weather events. This bill also proposes to require 15
2121 the Agency to develop a statewide asset management system to track flood 16
2222 response equipment availability, trained personnel, and critical resource 17
2323 locations. This bill also proposes to procure and provide State-funded regional 18
2424 fleets of vacuum trucks and other heavy-duty equipment to assist 19
2525 municipalities with debris removal and maintenance of flood mitigation 20
