1111 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require that an 6

1616 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont: 11
1717 Sec. 1. 18 V.S.A. § 1791 is amended to read: 12
1818 § 1791. DEFINITIONS 13
1919 As used in this chapter: 14

2121 (4) “Infant changing station” means a space within a restroom where an 16
2222 infant’s diaper can be changed. 17
2323 (5) “Available” means that any individual, regardless of gender, can 18
2424 enter the restroom where the infant changing station is located to change an 19

3030 Sec. 2. 18 V.S.A. § 1794 is added to read: 1
3131 § 1794. INFANT CHANGING STATIONS 2
3232 (a) At least one restroom in any public building or place of public 3
3333 accommodation shall contain an infant changing station and the restroom shall 4
3434 be available for use by any individual, regardless of gender. 5
3535 (b) The Commissioner of Public Safety may inspect for compliance under 6
3636 subsection (a) of this section during any inspection conducted pursuant to 7
3737 20 V.S.A. § 2731(b). 8
3838 Sec. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE 9
3939 This act shall take effect on July 1, 2025. 10
