15 | 15 | | development, expansion, and quality control of networks of recovery residences and |

16 | 16 | | to allocate moneys to create a grant program for establishing recovery residences or |

17 | 17 | | a network of recovery residences or to award grants for purposes specified in the bill. |

18 | 18 | | Current law defines a “recovery residence” as a home-like, residential environment |
---|
19 | 19 | | that promotes healthy recovery from a substance use disorder and supports a |
---|
20 | 20 | | person's recovery from a substance use disorder through the use of peer recovery |
---|
21 | 21 | | support. |

41 | 41 | | SECTION 3. 46.234 (9) of the statutes is created to read: |

42 | 42 | | 46.234 (9) REQUIREMENT; GRANTS. The department shall encourage the |

43 | 43 | | development, expansion, and quality control of networks of recovery residences. |

44 | 44 | | From the appropriation under s. 20.435 (5) (em), the department shall allocate |

45 | 45 | | moneys for any of the following purposes: |

46 | 46 | | (a) Creating a grant program for establishing a recovery residence or a network |
---|
47 | 47 | | of recovery residences. |
---|
48 | 48 | | (b) Awarding grants to train and supervise field workers to provide technical |
---|
49 | 49 | | assistance to recovery residences. |
---|
50 | 50 | | (c) Awarding grants to entities that establish recovery residences or to recovery |
---|
51 | 51 | | residences to support the development, expansion, and quality operation of recovery |
---|
52 | 52 | | residences. |
