Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services to encourage the
development, expansion, and quality control of networks of recovery residences and
to allocate moneys to create a grant program for establishing recovery residences or
a network of recovery residences or to award grants for purposes specified in the bill.
Current law defines a “recovery residence” as a home-like, residential environment
that promotes healthy recovery from a substance use disorder and supports a
person's recovery from a substance use disorder through the use of peer recovery
support.
