1111 AN ACT to renumber 118.07 (1); and to create 118.07 (1) (b) of the statutes;
1212 relating to: supplying anti-choking devices in schools.

1414 Current law requires every school board and the governing body of every
1515 private school to provide a standard first aid kit for use in cases of emergency. This
1616 bill requires school boards and governing bodies of private schools to make
1717 accessible, as part of a first aid kit, an anti-choking device that is registered as a
1818 Class I or Class II medical device with the United States Food and Drug
1919 Administration. The bill also requires school boards and the governing bodies of
2020 private schools to annually provide training on the use of anti-choking devices
2121 according to the device manufacturer's instructions.

2424 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
2525 enact as follows:
2626 SECTION 1. 118.07 (1) of the statutes is renumbered 118.07 (1) (a).
2727 SECTION 2. 118.07 (1) (b) of the statutes is created to read:
2828 118.07 (1) (b) Every school board and the governing body of every private school
2929 shall, as part of a first aid kit provided under par. (a), make accessible an
