JOHNSON, JACQUE, SPREITZER and TOMCZYK. Referred to Committee on Family Law. ***AUTHORS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*** AN ACT to amend 48.84 (2g) (a) of the statutes; relating to: preadoption training formats. Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Under current law, a proposed adoptive parent must complete 25 hours of preadoption training. Of these 25 hours, six hours must be completed in person and six hours must be targeted toward the specific needs of the child to be adopted. This bill allows adoptive parents to complete the in-person training requirements through a live videoconference. The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows: SECTION 1. 48.84 (2g) (a) of the statutes is amended to read: 48.84 (2g) (a) At least 6 hours of training that is provided in person or through a live videoconference session, either individually or in a group.
