1212 AN ACT to amend 48.84 (2g) (a) of the statutes; relating to: preadoption training

1414 Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
1515 Under current law, a proposed adoptive parent must complete 25 hours of
1616 preadoption training. Of these 25 hours, six hours must be completed in person and
1717 six hours must be targeted toward the specific needs of the child to be adopted. This
1818 bill allows adoptive parents to complete the in-person training requirements
1919 through a live videoconference.

2222 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
2323 enact as follows:
2424 SECTION 1. 48.84 (2g) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
2525 48.84 (2g) (a) At least 6 hours of training that is provided in person or through
2626 a live videoconference session, either individually or in a group.
