11	11	AN ACT to create 347.02 (8) of the statutes; relating to: tinting windows on
12	12	government-owned vehicles.

14	14	Current rules promulgated by the Department of Transportation establish
15	15	limitations on the degree to which motor vehicle windows may be tinted. This bill
16	16	provides that the limitations do not apply to vehicles owned by the state or a county,
17	17	city, village, or town when tinting is necessary for the protection of personnel,
18	18	passengers, or equipment.
19	19	The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
20	20	enact as follows:
21	21	SECTION 1. 347.02 (8) of the statutes is created to read:
22	22	347.02 (8) If the department establishes by rule limitations on the tinting of
23	23	motor vehicle windows, the limitations do not apply to vehicles owned by the state
24	24	or a county, city, village, or town when tinting is necessary for the protection of
25	25	personnel, passengers, or equipment.
