1111 AN ACT to create 347.02 (8) of the statutes; relating to: tinting windows on

1313 Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
1414 Current rules promulgated by the Department of Transportation establish
1515 limitations on the degree to which motor vehicle windows may be tinted. This bill
1616 provides that the limitations do not apply to vehicles owned by the state or a county,
1717 city, village, or town when tinting is necessary for the protection of personnel,
1818 passengers, or equipment.
1919 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
2020 enact as follows:
2121 SECTION 1. 347.02 (8) of the statutes is created to read:
2222 347.02 (8) If the department establishes by rule limitations on the tinting of
2323 motor vehicle windows, the limitations do not apply to vehicles owned by the state
2424 or a county, city, village, or town when tinting is necessary for the protection of
2525 personnel, passengers, or equipment.
