12	12	Relating to: proclaiming the week of April 29 to May 3, 2024, as School Nutrition
13	13	Professionals Appreciation Week.
14	14	Whereas, school nutrition professionals are highly skilled professionals with a
15	15	wide array of duties that support students in all aspects of education, including
16	16	preparing and serving food, complying with federal regulations, and managing the
17	17	dietary restrictions of students; and
18	18	Whereas, school meals are an integral part of a school day, and school nutrition
19	19	professionals care deeply about the foods that students eat, work to procure locally
20	20	sourced foods when possible, and spend significant time preparing menus to make
21	21	sure that students have the nutritious foods they need to learn and grow; and
22	22	Whereas, school nutrition professionals care deeply about and are committed
23	23	to the health and well-being of students across Wisconsin, forming special
24	24	relationships with students and showing them their care through the meals they
25	25	serve; and

43	43	Whereas, school nutrition professionals teach kids how to select a complete
44	44	meal, encourage them to take fruits and vegetables, and teach kids healthy eating
45	45	habits that last a lifetime; and
46	46	Whereas, the service and environment that school nutrition professionals
47	47	provide to students is the closest part of the school day students have to their home
48	48	life and can be the most comforting aspect of the school day that students have; and
49	49	Whereas, school nutrition professionals work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive
50	50	environment that is physically and emotionally taxing, and their commitment and
51	51	dedication to the well-being of Wisconsin's students often go underappreciated; now,
52	52	therefore, be it
53	53	Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
54	54	Wisconsin Legislature recognize April 29 to May 3, 2024, as School Nutrition
55	55	Professionals Appreciation Week; and, be it further
56	56	Resolved, That the legislature calls upon the people of Wisconsin to express
57	57	their honor, affirmation, love, respect, and gratitude to school nutrition professionals
58	58	everywhere; and, be it further
59	59	Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit copies of this
60	60	resolution to the governor of Wisconsin.
