20 | 20 | | Whereas, Taiwan shares the same values of freedom, democracy, human rights, |

21 | 21 | | the rule of law, peace, and prosperity with the United States and the State of |

23 | 23 | | Whereas, in 2021, the United States ranked as Taiwan's second-largest trading |

48 | 48 | | Whereas, negotiations for a BTA between Taiwan and the United States are an |

49 | 49 | | important step toward further strengthening bilateral trade between our countries, |

50 | 50 | | thereby increasing Wisconsin's exports to Taiwan and creating bilateral investment |

51 | 51 | | and technical collaboration through tariff reduction and other trade facilitation |

52 | 52 | | measures; and |
---|
53 | 53 | | Whereas, Taiwan has undertaken a policy of “steadfast diplomacy” in its |
---|
54 | 54 | | international relations, and Taiwan is capable and willing to fulfill its |
---|
55 | 55 | | responsibilities and to collaborate with the world to deal with the challenges of |
---|
56 | 56 | | humanitarian aid, disease control, and so forth; now, therefore, be it |
---|
57 | 57 | | Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin |
---|
58 | 58 | | Legislature reaffirms its commitment to the strengthening and deepening of the |
---|
59 | 59 | | sister ties between the State of Wisconsin and Taiwan; and, be it further |
---|
60 | 60 | | Resolved, That Wisconsin endorses Taiwan's efforts to secure the signing of |
---|
61 | 61 | | a BTA with the United States and reiterates its support for a closer economic and |
---|
62 | 62 | | trade partnership between the State of Wisconsin and Taiwan; and, be it further |

63 | 63 | | Resolved, That Wisconsin continues to support Taiwan's appropriate |
