6-Whereas, the manufacturing sector in Wisconsin is a major contributor to the economic engine
7-of the state, providing over $68 billion per year in economic output, or 20 percent of the state’s total
8-gross domestic product; and
9-Whereas, the manufacturing sector in Wisconsin employs nearly one in six workers in the state
10-through roughly 92,000 companies; and
11-Whereas, Wisconsin proudly leads the nation as a top state in manufacturing jobs per capita,
12-according to the most recent U.S. Census data; and
13-Whereas, Wisconsin’s manufacturing sector has remained robust and resilient, creating a total
14-of 9,300 new manufacturing jobs in the past year alone; and
15-Whereas, Wisconsin continues to support its manufacturing sectors by investing in programs
16-to help the manufacturing sector succeed and expand the talent pipeline, including supporting
17-programs like registered and youth apprenticeships, which provide on−the−job training, as well
18-supporting programs to encourage more youth to consider a career in manufacturing; and
19-Whereas, October provides an opportunity for the state to celebrate the success of our state’s
20-manufacturing industry while also promoting and showcasing the rewarding jobs in Wisconsin;
21-now, therefore, be it
22-Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin Legislature hereby
23-recognizes October 2023 as Manufacturing Month.

46+Whereas, October provides an opportunity for the state to celebrate the success
47+of our state's manufacturing industry while also promoting and showcasing the
48+rewarding jobs in Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it
49+Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
50+Legislature hereby recognizes October 2023 as Manufacturing Month.
