12 | 12 | | and loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on November 12, 2022 at the |

14 | 14 | | Whereas, Lolita Schneiders was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 3, 1931 and |
---|
15 | 15 | | attended Lourdes High School and Mundelein College before graduating from the |
---|
16 | 16 | | University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a teaching degree in 1953; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | Whereas, Lolita Schneiders taught in Arbor Vitae, Minocqua, and in the |
---|
18 | 18 | | Wausau area before settling in the Village of Menomonee Falls; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | Whereas, Lolita Schneiders went on to become the first female sales |
---|
20 | 20 | | representative for a Wisconsin insurance company and later became a sales |
---|
21 | 21 | | representative for a glass distributor; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | Whereas, Lolita Schneiders was elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 1980 and |
---|
23 | 23 | | served with distinction for 16 years; and |

44 | 44 | | Whereas, in 1999, Governor Tommy Thompson appointed Lolita Schneiders to |

45 | 45 | | the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents; and |

46 | 46 | | Whereas, Lolita Schneiders cherished the time spent with her family, especially |

47 | 47 | | in the kitchen cooking family recipes and at the dinner table, sharing her experiences |

48 | 48 | | in politics and government; and |
---|
49 | 49 | | Whereas, she also enjoyed reading, entertaining, playing bridge and golf, and |
---|
50 | 50 | | traveling with her late husband, Don; and |
---|
51 | 51 | | Whereas, Lolita Schneiders was an educator with a thirst for knowledge, who |

52 | 52 | | dedicated her life to serving her community and the state of Wisconsin; now, |
---|
53 | 53 | | therefore, be it |

54 | 54 | | Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin Assembly |
---|
55 | 55 | | mourn the passing of Representative Lolita Schneiders and commemorate her life |
---|
56 | 56 | | and public service. |
