Repealing the Land Recycling
Loan Program
BACKGROUND
The land recycling loan program provided financial assistance to address brownfields during the 2000s.
The program has not been utilized since 2008.
2023 WISCONSIN ACT 6
2023 Wisconsin Act 6 repeals the land recycling loan program, as well as administrative rules that were
promulgated by the Department of Natural Resources to implement the program.
The act transfers the balance of funds remaining in the program to the environmental improvement
fund and specifies that prior law continues to apply with respect to outstanding loan payments under
the program.
Effective date: May 10, 2024
