Referred to Committee on Transportation and Local Government. ***AUTHORS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*** AN ACT to amend 20.931 (title); and to create 20.931 (3) of the statutes; relating to: restriction on the sale or use of a device based on its energy source. Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau Under this bill, no state agency and no local governmental unit may restrict the use or sale of a device based on the energy source that is used to power the device or that is consumed by the device. The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows: SECTION 1. 20.931 (title) of the statutes is amended to read: 20.931 (title) Prohibited boycotts governmental actions. SECTION 2. 20.931 (3) of the statutes is created to read: 20.931 (3) PROHIBITIONS BASED ON ENERGY SOURCE. No state agency and no local governmental unit may restrict the use or sale of a device based on the energy source that is used to power the device or that is consumed by the device.
