21 | 21 | | SECTION 1.0Nonstatutory provisions. |

22 | 22 | | (1) GRANT TO THE ABILITY CENTER. (a) In this subsection: |

23 | 23 | | 1. “The Ability Center” means A.F.A.R., Inc., doing business as The Ability |

35 | 35 | | (b) The legislature finds and determines that providing the citizens of this state |
---|
36 | 36 | | affected by disabilities with a daily opportunity to be fit, active, and healthy, and to |
---|
37 | 37 | | play, and that building communities where citizens of all abilities are provided a |
---|
38 | 38 | | universal opportunity for health, wellness, and recreation is a statewide |
---|
39 | 39 | | responsibility of statewide dimension. It is therefore in the public interest, and it is |
---|
40 | 40 | | the public policy of this state, to assist The Ability Center to convert an existing park |
---|
41 | 41 | | in southeast Wisconsin for the provision of recreation and rehabilitation |
---|
42 | 42 | | opportunities for individuals with disabilities. |
---|
43 | 43 | | (c) From the appropriation under s. 20.505 (1) (a), in the 2023-24 fiscal year, |
---|
44 | 44 | | the department shall award a grant in the amount of $3,000,000 to The Ability |
---|
45 | 45 | | Center for the project specified in par. (b). |

46 | 46 | | SECTION 2.0Fiscal changes. |
---|
47 | 47 | | (1) GRANT TO THE ABILITY CENTER. In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the |
---|
48 | 48 | | appropriation to the department of administration under s. 20.505 (1) (a), the dollar |
---|
49 | 49 | | amount for fiscal year 2023-24 is increased by $3,000,000 to award the grant under |
---|
50 | 50 | | SECTION 1 (1) of this act. |
