Referred to Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety. ***AUTHORS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*** AN ACT to create 19.36 (14) of the statutes; relating to: withholding judicial security profiles from public access. Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau This bill exempts a judicial security profile form from disclosure under the public records law. Under the bill, a judicial security profile form is a form completed by or on behalf of a current or former judicial officer, such as a judge or court commissioner, and used to develop an emergency response plan. The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows: SECTION 1. 19.36 (14) of the statutes is created to read: 19.36 (14) JUDICIAL SECURITY PROFILES. (a) In this subsection: 1. “Judicial officer" means any of the following, whether living or deceased: a. A justice or former justice of the supreme court. b. A municipal judge or former municipal judge in this state. e. A circuit court commissioner or former circuit court commissioner in this state. 2. “Judicial security profile form” means a form prescribed by the director of state courts. (b) An authority shall not provide access under s. 19.35 (1) to a judicial security profile form that is completed by or on behalf of a judicial officer and used to develop an emergency response plan.
