4242 Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That:
4343 SECTION 1. 2023-2024 session schedule. (1) BIENNIAL SESSION PERIOD. The
4444 legislature declares that the biennial session period of the 2023 Wisconsin
4545 Legislature began on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, and that the biennial session period
4646 ends at noon on Monday, January 6, 2025.
4747 (2) BUDGET DEADLINE EXTENDED. The deadline of Tuesday, January 31, 2023, set
4848 by section 16.45 of the statutes for introduction of the executive budget bill or bills,
4949 submittal of the state budget report, and delivery of the governor's budget message,
5050 is extended to Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
5151 (3) SCHEDULED FLOORPERIODS AND COMMITTEE WORK PERIODS. (a) Unreserved
5252 days. Unless reserved under this subsection as a day to conduct an organizational
5353 meeting or to be part of a scheduled floorperiod of the legislature, every day of the
5454 biennial session period is designated as a day for committee activity and is available
5555 to extend a scheduled floorperiod, convene an extraordinary session, or take senate
5656 action on appointments as permitted by joint rule 81.
5757 (b) Inauguration. Pursuant to section 13.02 (1) of the statutes, the
5858 inauguration of the members of the 2023 legislature, and the organizing for business
5959 of the 2 houses, commences at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
6060 (c) Floorperiod. A floorperiod commences on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 10
6161 a.m., and ends on January 10, 2023.

138138 (L) Budget bill to governor. No later than the later of Thursday, August 3, 2023,
139139 at 4:30 p.m., or 4:30 p.m. on the 4th Thursday after the general fund executive budget
140140 bill is passed by both houses in identical form, the chief clerk of each house shall
141141 submit to the governor for executive action thereon any enrolled general fund
142142 executive budget bill originating in the chief clerk's house and having been passed
143143 by both houses, in regular, extraordinary, or special session.

246246 (4) INTERIM PERIOD OF COMMITTEE WORK. Upon the adjournment of the last
247247 general-business floorperiod, there shall be an interim period of committee work
248248 ending on Monday, January 6, 2025.
249249 (5) SPECIAL AND EXTRAORDINARY SESSIONS. (a) Adjournment. Except for
250250 consideration of executive vetoes or partial vetoes, a motion adopted in each house
251251 to adjourn a special or extraordinary session pursuant to this joint resolution shall
252252 constitute final adjournment of the special or extraordinary session.
253253 (b) Bills to governor. No later than 4:30 p.m. on the first Thursday occurring
254254 2 full weeks after the day a bill is passed by both houses in identical form after May
255255 15, 2024, in special or extraordinary session, the chief clerk of the house in which it
256256 originated shall submit it to the governor for executive action thereon.
257257 (c) Veto review. A special or extraordinary session shall reconvene upon a call
258258 of a majority of the members of the joint committee on legislative organization solely
259259 for the consideration of executive vetoes or partial vetoes if an enrolled bill passed
260260 by both houses during the special or extraordinary session was vetoed or partially
261261 vetoed.
262262 (6) END OF TERM. The biennial term of the 2023 legislature ends on Monday,
263263 January 6, 2025. Pursuant to section 13.02 (1) of the statutes, the inauguration of
264264 the members of the 2025 legislature will be on Monday, January 6, 2025.
265265 SECTION 2. Notice of 2025 session organization. Notice is hereby given that
266266 the biennial session of the 2025 legislature will hold its first meeting, pursuant to
267267 section 13.02 (1) of the statutes, on Monday, January 6, 2025, and that the meeting
268268 will begin at 2 p.m.
