1010 Relating to: designating the month of March as Endosalpingiosis Awareness
1111 Month.
1212 Whereas, Endosalpingiosis is a rare disease that primarily affects women
1313 between the ages of 20-49 years; and
1414 Whereas, Endosalpingiosis is characterized by the presence of tubal epithelium
1515 outside of the fallopian tube; and
1616 Whereas, the prevalence of Endosalpingiosis is difficult to establish, since it is
1717 diagnosed only through surgical biopsy; and
1818 Whereas, common symptoms of Endosalpingiosis include pelvic pain,
1919 infertility, menstrual irregularities, and dyspareunia, along with chronic back pain
2020 being reported as a common issue years before diagnosis; and
2121 Whereas, some of the biggest issues that patients face are uncertainty about
2222 how the condition develops and a lack of doctors who specialize in Endosalpingiosis;

4141 Whereas, there is currently no cure or known treatment for Endosalpingiosis,
4242 and there is little research being done to better understand the disease, so increasing
4343 awareness and educating the public is vital to supporting those impacted by
4444 Endosalpingiosis in our state; and
4545 Whereas, nonprofit groups such as Endosalpingiosis Foundation are working
4646 tirelessly to provide a much-needed support system for those who have been
4747 diagnosed and to continue to raise awareness and funding for research; and
4848 Whereas, Endosalpingiosis Awareness Month gives Wisconsin residents the
4949 opportunity to learn more about this condition and increase the resources and
5050 support available; now, therefore, be it
5151 Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the month of March
5252 shall be designated as Endosalpingiosis Awareness Month.
