| 18 | 18 | | Under current law, one member of the Professional Standards Council for |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Teachers (PSCT), which advises the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), must be a |

| 20 | 20 | | person licensed as a teacher by DPI, employed in a tribal school, and recommended by a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | federally recognized American Indian tribe or band in Wisconsin that has a tribal |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | school. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | This bill removes the requirement that this PSCT member be licensed by DPI. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Under the bill, the requirements for this PSCT member would instead be that the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | person is employed as a teacher in a tribal school and recommended by a federally |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | recognized American Indian tribe or band in Wisconsin that has a tribal school. |
