---|
22 | 22 | | 12 development and oversight task force to consist of the |
---|
23 | 23 | | 13 governor or the governor's designee, the tribal liaisons |
---|
24 | 24 | | 14 appointed by the governor under W.S. 9-1-221, the speaker |
---|
25 | 25 | | 15 of the house of representatives, the president of the 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-01942HB0106 |

26 | 26 | | 1 senate and any living former governor, former speaker of |

27 | 27 | | 2 the house of representatives or former president of the |
---|
28 | 28 | | 3 senate who agrees to participate in the task force. |

32 | 32 | | 7 (i) Develop preliminary specifications, plans |
---|
33 | 33 | | 8 and features for the monument to America in recognition of |
---|
34 | 34 | | 9 the upcoming two hundred and fifty (250) year anniversary |
---|
35 | 35 | | 10 of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The |
---|
36 | 36 | | 11 monument to America shall be similar in size and scope to |
---|
37 | 37 | | 12 the Mount Rushmore national monument and shall feature |
---|
38 | 38 | | 13 important historical American figures as recommended by the |
---|
39 | 39 | | 14 task force including native American leaders. The |
---|
40 | 40 | | 15 historical figures proposed for the monument shall include |
---|
41 | 41 | | 16 important historical figures from the eighteenth, |
---|
42 | 42 | | 17 nineteenth and twentieth centuries; |

44 | 44 | | 19 (ii) Determine a location for the monument to |
---|
45 | 45 | | 20 America, with the objective of locating the monument on |
---|
46 | 46 | | 21 school trust lands for the long‑term benefit of the common |
---|
47 | 47 | | 22 school account within the permanent land fund; |

49 | 49 | | 2 location and administrative structure of the monument to |

50 | 50 | | 3 America to the governor, the joint appropriations committee |

51 | 51 | | 4 and the joint travel, recreation, wildlife and cultural |

52 | 52 | | 5 resources interim committee not later than July 4, 2026. |

54 | 54 | | 7 (c) The active legislative members of the task force |

55 | 55 | | 8 shall receive compensation, per diem and travel expenses in |
---|
56 | 56 | | 9 the manner and amount prescribed by W.S. 28-5-101. Task |

57 | 57 | | 10 force members who are not active legislators and are not |
---|
58 | 58 | | 11 state employees shall receive the compensation, per diem |
---|
59 | 59 | | 12 and mileage paid to members of the Wyoming legislature |
---|
60 | 60 | | 13 under W.S. 28-5-101. |

63 | 63 | | 16 of state parks and cultural resources. The department of |

74 | 74 | | 5 appropriation shall be for the period beginning with the |

75 | 75 | | 6 effective date of this act and ending June 30, 2027. This |

76 | 76 | | 7 appropriation shall not be transferred or expended for any |
---|
77 | 77 | | 8 other purpose and any unexpended, unobligated funds |
---|
78 | 78 | | 9 remaining from this appropriation shall revert as provided |
---|
