History ADG regulates tribal gaming and certifies casino employees (A.R.S. § 5-602). ADG is also responsible for the regulation of horse racing, pari-mutuel wagering, boxing, mixed-martial arts and event wagering (A.R.S. §§ 5-101.01; 5-244; 5-1302). Laws 2023, Chapter 133 (the FY 2024 general appropriations act) appropriated $35,209,600 and 155.8 full-time equivalent positions to ADG in FY 2024. Of this appropriation, $16.6 million was appropriated from the Arizona Benefits Fund, $13.2 million was appropriated from the state General Fund (GF) and $5.4 million was appropriated from various Other Funds. Provisions 1. Reduces the FY 2024 appropriation to ADG by $10,000,000. (Sec. 1) 2. Directs ADG to deposit either $10,000,000 or the remaining unexpended and unencumbered balance of ADG's FY 2024 appropriation, whichever is less, into the GF.
