61- Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring: 1. Under the power of the referendum, as vested in the Legislature, the following measure, relating to sentencing, is enacted to become valid as a law if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor: AN ACT AMENDING TITLE 13, CHAPTER 7, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, BY ADDING SECTION 13-720; RELATING TO SENTENCING. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona: Section 1. Title 13, chapter 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 13-720, to read: START_STATUTE13-720. Child sex trafficking; felony; natural life; sentencing notwithstanding any other law, if a person is convicted of a class 2 felony for child sex trafficking pursuant to section 13-3212, the person shall be SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT IN THE CUSTODY OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR NATURAL LIFE. A PERSON WHO IS SENTENCED TO NATURAL LIFE IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY FORM OF RELEASE. END_STATUTE 2. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article IV, part 1, section 1, Constitution of Arizona.

Article XXIII, Constitution of Arizona, is proposed to be added as follows if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor: ARTICLE XXIII. THE PROTECTION OF ARIZONA'S CHILDREN 1. Child sex trafficking; natural life imprisonment; definition section 1. A. in order to protect the children of arizona, an adult who is convicted of sex TRAFFICKING of a minor child shall be sentenced to natural life imprisonment and is not eligible for any form of release. B. The legislature may implement this section as appropriate. C. For the purposes of this section, "sex trafficking of a minor child" means knowingly paying for sex with a minor, receiving payment for placing a minor in another person's custody with intent to cause the minor to engage in sex with another PERSON or PROVIDING or obtaining a minor with intent to cause the minor to engage in sex with another person. 2. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article XXI, Constitution of Arizona.
