The bill would require the licensed physician to certify before the contest whether the boxer is physically fit to safely compete and to provide a copy of that certification to the commission. By expanding the scope of the crimes of perjury and of violating the act, this bill would impose a state-mandated local program.The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state.
