ONCERNING STATE FUNDING TO FINANCE THE PURCHASE OF A FIREFIGHTING
AIRCRAFT TO RESPOND TO WILDFIRES

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 24-33.5-1228, add
(3)(c)(IV) as follows:
24-33.5-1228.  Colorado firefighting air corps - creation - powers
- aircraft acquisitions required - center of excellence - unmanned
aircraft systems study and pilot program - Colorado firefighting air
corps fund - creation - report - rules.

N THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS SECTION, THE STATE
NOTE:  This bill has been prepared for the signatures of the appropriate legislative
officers and the Governor.  To determine whether the Governor has signed the bill

the act. TREASURER SHALL TRANSFER TWENTY -SIX MILLION DOLLARS FROM THE
GENERAL FUND TO THE 
COLORADO FIREFIGHTING AIR CORPS FUND CREATED
IN SUBSECTION
 (3)(a) OF THIS SECTION. THE DIVISION SHALL USE THE MONEY
TRANSFERRED PURSUANT TO THIS SUBSECTION
 (3)(c)(IV) FOR THE PURPOSE
OF PURCHASING A FIRE HAWK HELICOPTER CONFIGURED FOR WILDFIRE AND
OTHER PUBLIC SAFETY RESPONSE NEEDS

SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly hereby finds,

preservation of the public peace, health, or safety.
