2121 AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF INTERNSHIPS AND STUDENT
2222 TEACHING IN COLLEGE ENVIRONMENTS.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2424 Assembly convened:

2626 Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) The Labor Commissioner, or the 1
2727 Labor Commissioner's authorized agent, shall study the use of student 2
2828 interns and student teachers in institutions of higher education in the 3
2929 state. Such study shall include, but need not be limited to, whether 4
3030 such interns and student teachers should be paid uniform stipends or 5
3131 hourly wages and whether there should be limits placed on the 6
3232 number of hours worked on a weekly basis by such interns and 7
3333 student teachers. On or before July 1, 2020, the Labor Commissioner 8
3434 shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the 9
3535 general statutes, the findings of such study to the joint standing 10
3636 committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 11
3737 relating to higher education and employment advancement and labor. 12
3838 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
3939 sections:
