| 26 | 26 | | Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2019) The Labor Commissioner, or the 1 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Labor Commissioner's authorized agent, shall study the use of student 2 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | interns and student teachers in institutions of higher education in the 3 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | state. Such study shall include, but need not be limited to, whether 4 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | such interns and student teachers should be paid uniform stipends or 5 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | hourly wages and whether there should be limits placed on the 6 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | number of hours worked on a weekly basis by such interns and 7 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | student teachers. On or before July 1, 2020, the Labor Commissioner 8 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the 9 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | general statutes, the findings of such study to the joint standing 10 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters 11 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | relating to higher education and employment advancement and labor. 12 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following |
