AN ACT CONCERNING NURSING HOME FACILITY STAFFING
RATIOS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) establish minimum 1
staffing ratios of at least 4.1 hours of direct care per resident, including 2
.75 hours of care by a registered nurse, .54 hours of care by a licensed 3
practical nurse and 2.81 hours of care by a certified nurse's assistant, and 4
(2) modify staffing ratios for social work and recreational staff such that 5
they are lower than the current standards. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure adequate care to residents of nursing home facilities.
