920 AN ACT CONCERNING TH E ORGANIZATIONAL STR UCTURE AND
1021 BYLAWS OF THE MILITIA UNITS.
1122 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1223 Assembly convened:

14-Section 1. Section 27-79 of the general statutes is repealed and the
15-following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2021):
16-[Each organization of the armed forces of the state shall make bylaws
17-for its government, which shall be binding on its members when
18-approved by the regimental or corresponding commander and the
19-Adjutant General; and all fines and dues imposed by such bylaws may
20-be collected in accordance with such procedure as the Adjutant General
21-may, by regulation, prescribe, provided notice shall be given to any
22-delinquent of the incurrence of any fine or dues within thirty days of the
23-date when the same has been incurred and notice may be given
24-collectively of such fines or dues or both. The commanding officer of the
25-organization shall be the president of the association created in the
26-bylaws, except that, if two or more organizations combine in one
27-association, the senior commanding officer shall be president. The
28-treasurer shall be elected from the enlisted personnel of the organization
29-or, if two or more organizations combine, from among the enlisted
30-personnel of one of the organizations. The treasurer of each such
31-organization shall give a bond to such organization in an amount House Bill No. 6427
